I felt so drawn to the double pendulum example. The randomness and the pattern simultaneously happening made me thing on how would this sound? Pendulums being so deeply related to oscillations and trigonometry made me think on the circle of fifths. How these notes, chord changes, harmony is connected through this circle and trigonometric principles. For me is fascinating and I was curious of getting some insight on what sonic/musical result I could get from that.
Of course, I knew since the beginning that the chances of the sound being 100% musical was an unrealistic expectation in this case. This is because of how the circle of fifths is arranged and because of how the pattern looks like. However, there’s some magical nuances about these patterns in terms of harmony. More towards the experimental harmony. But still, musical.
All of this was based on Daniel Shiffman’s code for the double pendulum.
